Dear Beloved,
This is the first pastoral letter that I am writing to you and I
am delighted to say that its not about money. Today’s
reading from the book of Acts reminded me of the
interesting times in which we are living and the need to
respond as the Body of Christ in our community to the
challenges we face today. The events of the past few
years have indeed tested us.
The ship Paul and his companions were in was facing an
uphill battle because the winds around them were
unfavorable. They tack and take shelter in Cyprus for awhile
until their journey can continue.
During lockdown, the subtle danger was to simply drift. In
trying times, we are encouraged to find safe harbour or to
anchor deep. As a church and ministry team we pray that
you will continue to find us a safe place to be heard in
love and upheld to God in faithfulness.
One of the most insidious challenges with Covid-19 has been that
the very thing which makes us human, that is our social
connection, one to another, is that which we must in some
ways avoid. Let me encourage you to stay connected to
both God and one another.
Get active – be intentional
Get creative – work around the challenges, show
your love in practical ways
Get connected – share the love, phone one
another – watch out for each other
Get praying – We are primarily a worshipping
community, called to love God. Have your download
from the cloud anytime, day or night.
Have your clergy on speed dial – we are able to
visit you at home in a covid safe way, and anyone
who needs a little extra support at this time.
Take advantage of our services online.
If we have an email address for you we
can send you more information.
Above all else remember you are loved, loved by us as a
parish, and by Almighty God, who demonstrated His great
love in sending His son for us.
Peace and goodwill
